Winter Sketches by Susan
Wow- Some year. Soooommmeeeee year!!
The power of death, the power of love, the will to survive, and meaningless-ness versus meaning............. We never thought it would be quite like this, did we? I find I sequester into my beloved literature and film and visual art as my personal escape. F. Scott Fitzgerald and Winter Dreams are on my mind today... so i thought i'd finally post...Be well, happy new year, and remember how frail life is....
here are some of my escape sketches....

S'about time..................
Thought I'd finally update this blog....been awhile...
I've been told my translation isn't all that correct-- i thought loosely translated, "tutti belli pensiere" meant to 'think and write of beautiful things'.....so even if I'm wrong it's just too much trouble to change the title. Now, today's subject-- DENEUVE---
Anyway, today's topic hearkens back to 1969-ish. I was six years old. My cousin called my mom to ask if she would take us to the movies...so my mom, my sister, my cousin and i went to see " the April fools" starring Jack Lemmon and Catherine Deneuve. OK, that did it. I was born in 1963, so my mom figured it was perfectly acceptable to torture this six year old by trying to make her look like Catherine Deneuve. She started doing my hair the way Catherine's was in the film, and by golly, now, at age 48, I'm still feeling the pressure to look like a 25 year old Denueve. I have a plethora of Deneuve photos....will post more later.
She is, after all, ALWAYS, the Belle de Jour.
